Last year I bought the National Parks series of books for our 8 year old grandson. He is always proud to show me how much he has read whenever we see him. This year we bought The Wilderness Advenure Pack for him for Christmas. The look on his face when he opened them told me everything we needed to know about how much he enjoyed reading these books.

I’m not sure about the series. My kids are reporting that the characters are whiny, discontent, and prideful. It seems they are still willing to read the series, but have nicknamed it “the brat series”. This is disappointing to me, since the other series we have purchased from Bakker books have been great. I am grateful that the kids can recognize poor character qualities. Sorry, I do not like to leave this negative review.
